Why study Drama?
No matter where you want to go in life, study in the arts will help enable you to get there. The journey of exploration and creation is central to work in all areas of society, and Drama will help you develop these skills in a highly creative and practical environment. Through the course you will develop your skills of teamwork, creativity, time management, independence as well as developing your theoretical and practical
understanding of what makes this multi-billion dollar industry tick.
What will I study over the two years?
The key areas of study are Devising, Text in Performance and Theatre Makers in Practice. The course is well structured but very flexible , allowing you and your fellow Drama students opportunities to plan the most successful route to success. Students at A Level Drama in Oriel can expect not only a boost to their personal self confidence, but a significant strengthening of their skills within self management, communication and relationship building. You will, in essence, become expert in self promotion, which will be vital as you negotiate your career path.
Where could Drama take me?
Students who study Drama and Theatre can realistically expect to negotiate careers in acting, law, journalism, cinematography, design, teaching, television, writing and community work amongst others.

What are the entrance requirements?
- 5 or more grades 5-9; including equivalents across at least 5 subjects
- Maths Grade 4 and English Language Grade 5 or above
- Average GCSE GRADE of at least 4.0 (average of ALL GCSE full courses taken)
