COVID-19 – School Trips (Statement 21/04/20)
Currently government advice is that all school trips for students under the age of 18 do not go ahead. Current Foreign & Commonwealth Office advice is also that ALL overseas trips do not go ahead. Government advice is reviewed and may change. We are aware that we have a number of domestic and overseas trips planned for our scheduled Activities Week in July 2020. Our position is that if possible parents/carers should continue to make payments for these trips. We are in contact with travel companies and venue’s and have sought advice from the Local Authority regarding insurance. Where a trip is cancelled due to COVID-19 we will seek a refund for parents/carers for any money paid towards those trips.
Learning outside the classroom is highly valued at Oriel High School.
The administrator for all trips, visits and residentials at Oriel High School is Mrs Bridgland. All forms relating to the trip must be with Mrs Bridgland by the deadline set by the trip leader. If you have any queries about payment, a student’s medical details or parental consent then you can contact Mrs Bridgland on the main school number or alternatively e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
