Tute Live GCSE Revision Sessions

Tute are offering all students free GCSE revision lessons in English language, science, and maths, LIVE on YouTube, the night before each exam.  During each lesson, one teacher will deliver the content, while another will moderate the chat. This ensures that students can ask questions and engage in discussions, helping them feel more confident and prepared for their exam.

Rainbow Run 2024

Well done to our Year 13 Sport students, who planned and led the excellent Rainbow Run event for Year 7 students at the end of the Spring term. The excellent occasion, enjoyed by all involved raised a very impressive £2747 for St. Catherine’s Hospice!  #OrielPE  #ProudtobePurple

Maths Trip to Italy

Some members of the maths department and sixth form maths students have been exploring some amazing mathematical sights during May half term in Italy. From angles of construction at the Leaning Tower of Pisa to an exploration of the works of the incredible Polymath Leonardo Da Vinci in Florence. They have also been exploring more sights in this beautiful city. From the Galileo Museum to the climb up Giotto’s tower for an amazing view of Florence. Lots of maths, science, architecture and engineering in action!

School Production ‘9 to 5’

Well done to all the staff and students involved in the school production ‘9 to 5’.  Everybody has worked so hard especially over the last few weeks to make the show a spectacular success.  The depth of talent on display was clear for everyone in the sold-out audiences to see. Creativity will always remain one of our core values and we are incredibly proud of our Arts faculty for producing such a brilliant show.  All the students involved in the show’s success should be very proud.  Special mention also to Mr Reed for steering the ship so well.

We can’t wait for next year’s performance.

Oriel Remembers

Staff and students again gathered for our annual whole school remembrance service on Friday 10th November.  The time-honoured tradition was not overshadowed by the damp weather. Staff, students, and invited guests observed the service with impeccable grace despite the wet conditions. Wreaths were laid in memory of the fallen, poems were read out, Jerusalem was sung impeccably by the student choir, and the last post provided a poignant moment as the school community fell silent.

We will always remember them.
