Letter from the Queen

Oriel High student Connor, wrote to the Queen to send his well wishes and to see if he would receive a response.

Connor was hopeful that he would receive a reply but knew The Queen was busy preparing for her upcoming Platinum Jubilee. The arrival of the letter caused a buzz of excitement among Connor, fellow students, and staff at the school.  The student was delighted to receive a letter from Buckingham Palace, with a message from the Queen and an official stamp. The letter is now proudly displayed on Connor’s fridge.

Pastoral Coordinator at Oriel Justine Taylor said “We are all very proud of Connor for taking the time to write a letter to the Queen in his own time after school with us. “We are all delighted, especially Connor himself with her Majesty’s response. Connor will have this commemorative keepsake to cherish for many years to come.” Connor said “I was so excited to receive a reply from the Queen, I almost cried. I can’t wait to celebrate the jubilee now.”

Chicago – School Production 2021

Oriel High School Creative Arts Faculty is excited to open ticket sales for our production of Chicago.
It has become an annual tradition to hold our whole school musical, and it was disappointing that last year we were unable to do so. However, we are back with a bang and ready to stage our most ambitious performance to date.

Starring students from across all key stages both onstage and backstage, Chicago is a rollercoaster ride back into the roaring 20s of America. In a story of love, betrayal, murder and ambition, we follow Roxie Hart as she commits a terrible crime and then tries to use her new-found fame to become a superstar. Along the way she meets her idol Velma Kelly, and the fellow murderesses in the Cook County Jail, as they are looked after by the keeper of the keys Matron ‘Mama’ Morton. Roxie convinces her poor and neglected husband Amos to hire the most expensive lawyer in town Billy Flynn to Razzle Dazzle the courtroom and to get her off her murder charge and to make her a star.
We hope to see you come along to support our talented students in this long awaited production.

Parents can purchase tickets from parent mail.

Anyone without access to parent mail can call the school and purchase tickets over the phone .
